How Does Opus Plasma RF work?
Skin Resurfacing
Did you know that beyond the age of 20, we lose 1% of our collagen production annually? This loss is one of the main causes of wrinkles, uneven skin texture, and other aging symptoms. To stop this loss and restore our skin's youthfulness from the inside out, Opus Plasma stimulates our body's natural collagen production.
Opus Plasma uses fractionated plasma energy to produce effects akin to deep resurfacing. The unipolar RF energy released from the device's metal pins interacts with the air when your provider holds the apparatus over your skin, creating plasma. As a result of the microscopic channels (also known as "microinjuries") this plasma makes in your skin, collagen, and elastin are produced more quickly.
Due to the fractional nature of plasma energy, it only treats a small portion of an area at a time, protecting the surrounding skin to promote even faster recovery. The end result is skin that is smoother, more elastic, and younger-looking without requiring the extended recovery time of traditional skin resurfacing procedures.
Ideal Candidate
Opus Plasma was created to be a flexible treatment option for a broad range of individuals with various age groups, skin types, and skin issues. This flexibility and adjustment allow us to create the best treatment plan for you.
Is this treatment painful?
Your treatment plan will determine the level of discomfort. We typically will use a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area beforehand to lessen any discomfort during treatment. There can be a brief period of moderate sunburn-like burning just after the operation. Ice packs can be used, but most people do not need to use oral pain medicine.
How do I prepare?
Avoid wearing makeup or lotions prior to treatment. Plan for 2-3 days of noticeable redness and swelling post-treatment while avoiding the sun or using sunscreen until fully healed around 1 week.
How many treatments do I need and how far apart?
While you'll begin to enjoy noticeable improvements following your first treatment, two to three treatments are recommended for optimal results. Treatments are typically scheduled around 4 weeks apart along with awareness of other services such as Dysport or Botox that could affect your treatment schedule.
